What to put on your website?

From what we have learned from Google Analytics and from speaking to lots of schools, the student’s work is the one of the most popular things to put on the school website.  Whilst parents would like to be able to spend quality time at the school visiting assemblies, sports days and school concerts, unfortunately they’re often too busy to attend.  This is where homepage communications can help to bridge that gap.

Throughout the year students write an abundance of creative writing, season reports and summaries.  Team sports & athletics, debating, drama, class excursions, camps, music, house and year level captains’ reports and round-ups are all great material for the homepage along with creative and fictional pieces.  It gives the students a chance to see their work published and parents get to read firsthand what’s been happening within the school each week from a student’s point of view.  Privacy with some schools may be an issue, so the author's first name could be published or their title, Year 4 Netball Captain.

After a full year of activities and reports, the CMS has then become a repository for all of these documents and becomes the first port of call when it’s time to put the Yearbook together!
